When BILL SLATER Was 9-Noon On KRLA

In the Spring of 1967, after KRLA (Los Angeles) afternoon-driver DAVE HULL was told he couldn't play advance tracks from the not-yet-released new Beatles album (due June 1, 1967), Hull did NOT show up for his Saturday shift in protest of that decision.

Hull was promptly fired, and the following Monday 9-Nooner REBEL FOSTER was put into Hull's 3-6pm shift.

To replace Foster in the 9-Noon shift, weekender BILL SLATER was brought in to jock the housewife hours.

This only lasted less than a week, as actual massive sign-carrying sit-ins and huge protests on the radio station's front steps promptly brought Hull BACK 3-6pm, Foster went BACK to 9-Noon, and Slater went back to weekends.
